Faqirabad Railway Station is located in a village faqirabad in Attock district of Punjab province of Pakistan. This railway station was built in the British era in 1880.The height of this railway station is about 399 meters above sea level. This railway station is located between Sanjwal and Burhan railway station. The old name of Faqirabad was Lawrencepur.
It is located near the railway station G. T road. This railway station has a building in the style of small old stations, which is constructed of bricks.The building of Faqirabad railway station is painted white and on the front side of this building Faqirabad is written in Urdu and English in the middle and Kalma Tayyaba is written on the roof above it.
There are few rooms in this railway station building which include station master office, ticket ghar, waiting room and batti godam etc.
Token system is also used at this railway station, which has been running since the British era. There is a shed in front of the main building of Fakirabad railway station and some benches are also placed inside it.In the shed of this railway station building and outside some flower plants are also planted in small pots which look very beautiful.
At this station, outside the door of the station master’s office, a niche has been built on one side and there is a weighing machine, which dates back to the British era.Red buckets filled with sand and water are also hung on a stand at Fakirabad railway station to extinguish the fire. There is a large area of Pakistan Railways around the building of Faqirabad Railway Station.
There are also many trees at this railway station, including an old banyan tree that is about 150 years old. On the other side of the tracks of this railway station is a cardboard factory which has been closed for quite some time.
The surrounding area of this railway station is very beautiful and passengers enjoy this quiet and peaceful railway station.This railway station has only one platform. A lot of trains pass through Faqirabad railway station, but there is no train stop at this station at present.
