Jahangira Railway Station

Jahangira railway station is located in Jahangira, a village in Nowshera district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, Pakistan. This railway station was built around 1883 during the British rule. This railway station is located on the Karachi-Peshawar railway line. Jahangira Railway Station is located between Khairabad Kund Railway Station and Akora Khattak Railway Station. The height of this railway station is 995 feet above sea level.

There is also a military cantonment at Nowshera, situated on a sandy plain along the right bank of the Kabul river, two miles in diameter, and surrounded by low hills on all sides except the north, which opens towards the river.  Gerritharn now consisted of one British infantry regiment, two native cavalry and four infantry regiments, one battalion, and one bearer corps belonging to the Peshawar Division of the Northern Command. The railway and railway bridge across the river was opened on 1st December 1903.

The town, 3 miles from the cantonment, with the headquarters of Nowshera Tehsil, has a government dispensary and a local middle school managed by the District Board. Borders of Nowshera =- Nowshera district is bordered by Peshawar district in the west, Mardan district in the north, Charsadda district in the northwest, Peshawar district in the northeast, Mardan district in the north, Orakzai agency in the west and Attock district in the east. The weather in Nowshera is generally colder from November to February and hot from June to August.

The station was first established in the late 19th century, during the British colonial era, as a small stop on the North Western Railway. It has since undergone several renovations and expansions to become the modern station it is today. Jahangira Railway Station has four platforms, each with its own waiting room and ticketing facilities. The station also has a number of amenities for travelers, including a food court, a bookstall, a medical clinic, and a restroom.
