Golra Sharif Junction Railway Station is located on Golra Road in Islamabad, the federal capital of Pakistan. The railway station was built in 1882 and in 1912 the station was graded as a junction.
This railway station is located on the main line of Pakistan Railway Station. Golra railway station connects the rest of the country to the south and Peshawar to the north. This railway is located in the southwest of Islamabad, the capital of Pakistan, at an altitude of 1994 feet above sea level.
The magnificent building of Golra Railway Station is built in Victorian architecture and is made of yellow stone with five hall-like rooms. It was the logistical artery of the British during their Afghan military campaigns in the late 20th century and has since become an important trade route that enters Afghanistan through the famous Khyber Pass.
There is also a railway museum at Golra Sharif railway station. The station which once connected Peshawar, Kohat, Havelian and Multan is now more important because of its museum. Golra Sharif Railway Museum also known as Pakistan Railway Heritage Museum is located at Golra Railway Station in Rawalpindi Division.
