Havelian Railway Station

Havelian railway station is located in Havelian, a city in Abbottabad district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, Pakistan. This railway station was built around 1913 during the British era. The height of this railway station is about 859 meters above sea level. This railway station is also called the last station of Pakistan because there is no railway track system after it. The distance from Havelian Railway Station to Abbottabad city is about 18 km. This railway station is the last railway station on Taxila to Havelian branch line 55 km. Havelian railway station is actually a district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa but according to the administrative division of Railways, it comes under Rawalpindi division. History of Havelian In 997 AD, Sultan Mahmud Ghaznavi captured the Ghaznavid Empire established by his father Sultan Sebukhtagin, in 1005 he conquered the royals in Kabul, and then conquered the Punjab region.

The Delhi Sultanate and later the Mughal Empire ruled the region. Havelian literally means “the mansions” corresponding to the old residential mansions and caravanserais that hosted ancient caravans traveling the Silk Road. Havelis have mild summers. During the British rule, the existing district of Abbottabad was created as a tehsil of Hazara district. After the independence of Pakistan, it remained Hazara tehsil until 1981. When the old Abbottabad Tehsil became a district. Later the district was divided into two tehsils named Abbottabad and Havelian.

Havelian railway station is a very big and beautiful railway station. The building of this railway station is skin colored from the outside and the entrance door has a board above the ceiling with Kalma Tayyaba written on it, and below it “Railway Station Havelian” written in Urdu. There are many rooms in this railway station building including station master office, ticket house, ASM office, TCR, running room, and waiting room. As soon as you enter the Havelian railway station, there is a ticket house from where passengers get tickets for their journey and there is also an ASM office which has a man who performs his duty at night instead of the station master. The light warehouse room at this railway station has many old lights, old lamps and chimneys etc.

In the running room at Havelian railway station, the train drivers and other employees whose home station is far away live here and kitchen and bed facilities are provided here. There is a huge platform at Havelian railway station. A shed for passengers has been constructed on the platform of this railway station and fans have also been installed in it. Havelian railway station has also been planted with a large number of flower plants which look very beautiful. Apart from these flower plants, a garden of fruit plants has been created which includes olive, orange, pomegranate, loquat and jamun etc. is made Havelian railway station is also called the last railway station of Pakistan because there is no station after this station, then the trains return from here. There is also a turntable on this railway station on which a train engine is parked and since that turntable is manual, some people show it and change the direction of the engine.
