Nowshera Junction Railway Station

Nowshera Junction railway station is located in Nowshera district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan. This railway station was built around 1886 during the British period. Nowshera Junction railway station is located on the Karachi-Peshawar line. The height of Nowshera Junction railway station is about 300 meters above sea level. This railway station is located between Hayat sher pao Railway Station and Khushal Railway Station.

There is also a military cantonment at Nowshera, situated on a sandy plain along the right bank of the Kabul river, two miles in diameter, and surrounded by low hills on all sides except the north, which opens towards the river.  Gerritharn now consisted of one British infantry regiment, two native cavalry and four infantry regiments, one battalion, and one bearer corps belonging to the Peshawar Division of the Northern Command. The railway and railway bridge across the river was opened on 1st December 1903. The town, 3 miles from the cantonment, with the headquarters of Nowshera Tehsil, has a government dispensary and a local middle school managed by the District Board. Borders of Nowshera =- Nowshera district is bordered by Peshawar district in the west, Mardan district in the north, Charsadda district in the northwest, Peshawar district in the northeast, Mardan district in the north, Orakzai agency in the west and Attock district in the east. The weather in Nowshera is generally colder from November to February and hot from June to August.
Nowshera Junction railway station is a very busy and big railway station. The building of this railway station is also beautifully constructed of stone bricks and is painted white inside and out. There are many rooms in this railway station building including station master office, ticket office, information office waiting rooms, batti godam, parcel godam and ASM office etc. Nowshera Junction is written in Urdu and English in black ink on the entrance gate of the main building of this railway station. A metal detector has been installed on the inner side in front of the entrance gate of this railway station which is used for security checking. This railway station has two platforms and sheds have been constructed on both of them and wooden and iron benches have also been placed for the passengers. There are also small shops on the platform of Nowshera Junction railway station where most of the food items are easily available. In front of this railway station building near the station master office there is also a weighing fork which is used to weigh the luggage of passengers and this fork is built in 1941 Nowshera Junction railway station also has wheelchairs so that disabled people can travel easily. There is another building next to the main building of this railway station which is the reservation office of Pakistan Railway Nowshera and in front of this building there are plants in pots and grass in the yard and it looks very beautiful. The cleanliness of Nowshera railway station is taken care of, a lot of trains pass through this railway station, but some trains stop here.
